Gainsborough are incredibly proud of our two year old nursery provision. If you are interested in applying for childcare for your 2 year old, you can do so by completing the application form below and returning this directly to us.

Disadvantaged Pupils 15 Hours Funding Application
To apply to see if you are eligible for the Disadvantaged Pupils 15 free hours childcare for 2 year olds, you will need to visit the Hackney Education website to make an application.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_column_text]
Working Families 30 Hours Funding Application
Applications for the working families funding are very simple. All parents can apply by visiting the Gov.uk website here.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_column_text]
Top Up & Wrap Around Care
Gainsborough currently offer a number of possibilities for families which includes top ups and wrap around care which runs in addition to the governments standard ‘funded’ childcare initiative. We offer parents the opportunity to ‘top up’ which extends attendance beyond the current 15 hours per week Government funded offer for disadvantaged funding and 30 hours per week for Working Family Funding.
In addition to school day hours, we also offer wraparound care in the form of Breakfast Club (8.00-8.45am) and After School Club (3.45-6.00pm) activities.

Disadvantaged Funded Hours 8.45-11.45am or 12.45-3.45pm
School Day 8.45am-3.45pm (30 hour funding only)
Breakfast Club & School Day 8.00am-3.45pm
School Day & After School Club 8.45am-6.00pm

Preschool Information Leaflet
As you will be aware, the Governments Working Family Funding is now in place. Families that are eligible are able to access a set number of free childcare hours from the term after a child turns 9 months. This is currently 15 hours but will increase to 30 hours from September 2025.
Children will only be eligible for funding from the term after they turn 9 months. Which means that admissions will be set to September, January and April depending on your child’s birthday.
As we offer private childcare, families can choose to start their child before their funding eligibility date by agreeing to pay our private fees until your eligibility begins.

Submitting an Application
Applications for two year old nursery provision are made directly to the school, by completing the relevant application form below and returning this to the office or our dedicated admissions mailbox: admissions@gainsborough.hackney.sch.uk

2 Year Old Application Form – For September 2025
Along with your completed application form, you will also need to provide the following original documents which will be copied and held on your child’s school record:
- Proof of child’s birth (Full Birth Certificate)
- Proof of Parental ID (Passport or Birth Certificate)
- Proof of address
