Year 1 Mechanisms unit in DT. Year 1 are learning to make sliders. These sliders will form the pop ups for the their Rainbow Fish pop up books. Well done year 1!

Year 1 took a walk through the local area and visited different places of work to support their geography learning. They visited Matterform at The Loop, Revered Sue @stmaryofeton and Althea @thebaduway. The children enjoyed learning about what is in their local area, what people do here in Hackney Wick and why they chose to be in Hackney Wick. Well done Year 1!

The Nativity 2025! A huge well done to Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 on a superb Nativity performance. Your voices, confidence, timing, song, enthusiasm and enjoyment touched us all. Year 1 gathered a range of different materials to complete their bug hotel in the Oasis this week. They have made a home for mini beasts over the winter, where they can have some shelter, food and can be protected from the weather. Thank you Year 1. #keepkind #keepgreen

We made headdresses for our Caribbean carnival representing each different carnival dance we have learnt. Year 1 Jamaica 🇯🇲, Year 2 Trinidad 🇹🇹, Year 3 Guyana 🇬🇾, Year 4 Brazil 🇧🇷, Year 5 Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Year 6 Cuba 🇨🇺!

Year 1 herb tasting with Chef Rab. Year 1 explored the tastes and textures of our home grown herbs last week. They also made tartar sauce to have with our fish main last week- it was delicious! #keepgreen #keephealthy

Year 1 took a walk around the Olympic Park to locate landmarks in our local area. They matched these to a map as part of their geography learning. Well done Year 1.

The beach! Last week Year 1 visited Chalkwell Beach as part of their Geography learning. They dig for crabs, made sandwiches castles and paddled in the shallows. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the trip.
