Year 6 Swimming Ability
Each year, our Year 6 pupils take part in a two week block of swimming lessons at the Olympic Pool in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
These lessons take place in second half of the summer term, after the children have completed their SATs tests.
Here are the outcomes of our most recent cohort of children who attended these lessons (June 2025):
- From this cohort of pupils, 16% of the children were able to swim at least 25 meters unaided by the end of their block of lessons.
- From this cohort of pupils 5 were able to use a range of strokes effectively.
- From this cohort of pupils 5 were able to perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
