To bring this vision to life, we have introduced a wide variety of donated, thrifted, and repurposed materials, carefully chosen to align with our commitment to sustainability. Our approach actively involves the whole school community: families contribute resources, and children take ownership of maintaining, organising, and even sourcing new play materials. Pupil voice is central to the process, with Play Ambassadors working alongside staff to shape and continually improve play experiences, sharing feedback and ideas that reflect the interests and needs of their peers.
The impact of this journey is already evident. Children are more physically active, demonstrating greater confidence and creativity in their play. Behaviour across the school has improved, with pupils showing increased cooperation, independence, and responsibility. Attendance has also risen, reflecting a growing enthusiasm for school life. Together, these outcomes highlight the value of a rich, inclusive play environment in supporting both wellbeing and achievement.
