Our Staff

Meet our staff members…

Our Children’s Centre team is small, friendly and committed to getting to know the families who use our service.

Children’s Centre Staff
Charlotte Harris
Children’s Centre Manager,
Family Support Worker and
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Charlotte manages the Children’s Centre and works directly with families, supporting them with a wide range of issues including parenting, family support, children’s development, safeguarding and accessing other services.
Charlotte builds strong relationships with families and wants everyone who comes into the Centre to feel listened to, supported and safe. Families know that they can come and talk to her without feeling judged and that, even when things are difficult, they will be heard and supported. She wants families to feel that they are not having to deal with things on their own and that there is someone there to help hold things together.
Joyce Peltier
Senior Play worker,
Children’s Centre Outreach, and
Deputy Safeguarding Officer
Joyce is an experienced play worker with many years of experience supporting children and families. She is a real fountain of knowledge and is someone families know they can come to for advice, support or just a chat.
Joyce delivers most of our drop-in sessions and themed activities and is a familiar face to many of the families who use the Centre. She also carries out outreach work, helping us to stay connected with families and encourage them to make use of the support available.
Her friendly and welcoming approach helps families feel comfortable when they come into the Centre, and she plays a big part in making Gainsborough a place where families feel they belong.
Lisa Chandler
Administration Assistant
Lisa is often the first point of contact for families. She helps with enquiries, bookings, appointments and general administration and can help families find out more about what’s available at the Centre.
Lisa is a friendly and welcoming face and is always willing to help in any way she can. Whether families need information, are unsure who to speak to, or just need a little help with something, Lisa is happy to point them in the right direction.
Our team works alongside colleagues from health, early years, education and other services. Hackney’s approach is based on bringing different professionals together so families can access the support they need without having to navigate everything on their own.
