Each week, for 6 weeks, some of our Year 4 pupils will attend ice hockey coaching sessions at Lee Valley as part of a partnership with @hackneyonice We are beyond excited to see the skills and talents unfold in what is often an inaccessible sport. Thank you @raggedschoolmuseum for taking us back to school in the 1900’s. Year 4 loved learning about how school has changed since Victorian times which brought their learning to life in history. #keepconnected

Year 4 were visited by the Hackney Vampires ice hockey team this week! As part of the @hackneyonice programme Gainsborough is trialling, we were able to introduce current players to pupils to inspire them on their ice hockey journey. Thank you @hackneyonice this is a fantastic opportunity and can see some budding ice hockey players on the horizon! #keepconnected #keephealthy

Thank you to @hackneyonice and @leevalleyicecentre for the incredible introduction to Ice Hockey! Year 4 and 5 loved meeting the players, watching the demos and sharing your enthusiasm for the sport! Do we have the next East London Ice Hockey superstar? 🏑 🥅 We hope so!

Year 4 are making linkages as part of their Mechanisms unit in DT this week. They will use these to make a pop up book about Inventions! Well done Year 4.

Perks to being on the park! Year 4 took part in a colour run on the Olympic Park. They were gifted trainers and an amazing gift bag full of goodies. Thank you @nike and @sportsdirectuk for the fun-filled, fashion festivities. #keephealthy #keepconnected

Year 4 have picked the last of the tomatoes and cucumbers from the polytunnels. They made pickled cucumber and chilli sauce to see us through the winter. Thank you Year 4! #keepgreen #keephealthy

We made headdresses for our Caribbean carnival representing each different carnival dance we have learnt. Year 1 Jamaica 🇯🇲, Year 2 Trinidad 🇹🇹, Year 3 Guyana 🇬🇾, Year 4 Brazil 🇧🇷, Year 5 Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Year 6 Cuba 🇨🇺!

Year 4 made a refreshing drink from Ghana in their DT lessons this week. They learnt chopping, straining and measuring skills. They said the drink was sweet and refreshing and the mint gave it a kick. Well done Year 4. 🇬🇭 🍍 🥤
