Year 6 were invited to the Yard this week to work alongside @jeremydeller @theyardtheatre @matt_and_fiona to create some art work for the new Yard theatre space. Gainsborough and the Yard Theatre have a long standing relationship, spanning over 10 years, supporting each other to provide access for children to arts and theatre experiences. The children loved this workshop and cannot wait to see their ideas come to life! #keepconnected #keepgiving

Not everyone will know the challenges you have faced but everyone will be able to celebrate your achievements, so hold your heads up high, aim for the stars and shine your bright, bright lights for all to see! Our Year 6 play told the story of Refugee Boy, based on a book written by Benjamin Zephaniah. We wrote our own words, created our own songs and told a deeply emotional story about belonging, change and resilience. The children displayed these qualities throughout rehearsals and the performance, and they were incredible to watch. We are sending them out into the world, braver, more determined and with confidence and pride. Well done Year 6! Well done Gainsborough.

Wild Flower Walk. We took our assembly outside again this week, enjoying a shared experience and celebrating what a wonderful area we have access to. We walked to Wick Woodland, checking a wild flower checklist as we went. We spotted most British wild flowers that were expected in Spring. Year 6 had a Summer wild flowers checklist and most of their flowers had not yet bloomed. Well done years 1-6. #outdoorlearning #keepgreen
